After Thanksgiving, it’s time to order your boxwood tree from Stony Hill Gardens!

Our trees make delightful centerpieces that last long after the holidays are over. We have many premade trees in mostly traditional colors, but if you’re looking for a certain color combination or style, please call us.

The tree is a floral arrangement made with boxwood clippings, dried flowers and ornaments. “If kept in water, they will last long after Easter,” says Joan Studley, floral manager for Stony Hill Gardens.

Many people have made boxwood trees their traditional Christmas gift or hostess gift.

There’s no extra charge for custom colors. Trees range in price from $55 to $80, depending upon how they are decorated. Ornaments include bows, balls, packages and glitter baby’s breath. Themes might include birds, fruit, woodland, plaid or the color of your choice. You can also buy plain trees to decorate yourself.

“Instead of flowers, you could order a boxwood tree for local delivery,” says Joan. Because the trees are time-consuming to make, they can’t be ordered for same-day delivery.

“The boxwood tree is a tradition for many people,” says Joan. “It’s a nice gift to send.”

Order your boxwood tree by Dec. 19 to ensure it will be ready in time for Christmas.
